The 108 Performance Assessment Mat provides our proven strategy to find a players’ best landing position in the batters box or on the mound: from stride angle, width of base, and even distance from the plate/side of the rubber, this is the first thing a player does when they come to our shop.
Many players struggle trying to change their swing or their pitching mechanics when in all reality they are in a bad position to swing or throw. These bad positions force players to compensate and change their mechanics to complete the task of hitting the ball or throwing to their target. The 108 Performance Assessment Mat assists players in finding their best landing position so that mechanics are not compromised. More often than not, when you fix the positioning, the mechanics clean up without any additional cueing or drill work.
In the cage and in the bullpen. It is best to be kept indoors or under a covered area because it is a carpet mat not turf.
Best used during first time assessments and on a regular basis during training and practice. Throwing applications range from plyo drills, catch play to bullpen work. Hitting applications range from tee work, toss, bp in the cage, and bp on the field.
